  • Managing Negative Emotions as a Mama:
    Fear, Anxiety, Depression, Anger

As mamas, we know how important it is to teach our children how to manage their emotions, but who is teaching us how to manage ours? Without the tools and resources needed to grow in this area, we could end up either stuffing our emotions so deep that they're inaccessible to us and to others, or constantly simmering with these emotions lurking right under the surface, ready to explode at the first stressor.

Many of us desire to strengthen our emotional intelligence and capacity, but we just don't know how.

Join Elizabeth and Catie of Mama Soul Care to explore this in more detail, to ask questions, and to learn and grow together in this critical, yet often overlooked area, as women and as mamas.

Craft Workshop: Prayer Journaling

Mary Johnson, Rolling Storm Studio

  • Hi there!

I’m Mary Johnson, or “Mare” as my family and close friends call me. I am a child of God, a wife, a mom to 2 teenage girls, a preschool teacher, an avid “journaler” and an artist!

Ever since I was a young child, art has brought me great comfort...and through the years, I have come to realize that God had given me this gift, most importantly, as a way to draw me closer to Him, but also as a way to draw attention to His glorious creation and bring joy to others.

I currently do all of my creating at our kitchen table but my “studio” is affectionately named “Rolling Storm Studio.” There is a beautiful story behind the name and I would love to share it with you sometime. You can also follow me and my journey on my Rolling Storm Studio Facebook page

  • Does the thought of journaling seem daunting...or maybe like something only teenagers would do? Does it bring about thoughts of little pink diaries with locks that got picked by siblings? Do you hear the word, “journal” and think that there is no way you have time to sit still for such a thing? Or maybe you just have so much going on that you wouldn’t even know where to start...so you don’t.

If any of those questions describe your thoughts, then this workshop is for you. Or maybe you are already a “journaler” and just need to be encouraged in your journey...this workshop is for you too!

Because of all the things God might call us to in our lives, the most important thing is a deep and abiding relationship with Him...and journaling is an important spiritual discipline that facilitates and fosters conversations with our loving Father.

Each participant will receive a journal with a unique cover design that can be colored during the workshop. As you spend time coloring, we will explore 3 reasons why journaling is an important spiritual discipline and also get tips for creating a life-long habit of slowing down and scheduling time to meet with God each and every day in a tangible way.
